Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet covers English football quite closely, especially when there’s stories related to players from their country.
On Thursday evening they have an article pushing forward a Plymouth Argyle transfer target and they talk up the prospect of Wayne Rooney’s side potentially making a move in the winter market.
He’s a 23-year-old midfielder who plays for Hammarby IF. Hammar has represented Sweden at youth levels but is yet to get the call for the senior team.
According to the Aftonbladet report, Plymouth Argyle has been scouting Hammar over the autumn. Those scouting missions have now brought enough information that the newspaper says that aspect of the mission is finalised.
Now Plymouth would be considering making an offer for Hammar, and it’s believed he would be positive about such an approach from the Championship club.
He has a contract lasting until December 2027, with Swedish football running on a different calendar to the UK.
Plymouth Argyle may need to hurry, with interest also coming from elsewhere.
