Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has admitted he doesn’t know what the future holds as the club are yet to talk to him about a renewal.
Tipsbladet cover comments from the 32-year-old today about his future as he’s currently set to be a free agent.
Eriksen is out of contract at Manchester United at the end of the season and so, from January 1st, will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of England.
Manchester United can stop that from happening by extending his current deal but so far there have been no indications that will be happening.
He will be assessing the squad he has inherited from Erik ten Hag from here on out, with it yet to be seen if he is given funds to change things in the January transfer window.
Given the system the Portuguese boss plays and his age, Eriksen does not appear to be an ideal fit for Amorim’s plans, at least on paper.
But it seems no decision has been made on his future as yet, with him admitting he is still to hear from Manchester United about their plans for him.
“I haven’t focused on it yet, and I haven’t heard anything from the club,” he said.
“Right now it’s just about football, and then we have to see where we stand in January and for that matter in the summer
“As a football player, you just turn up and train, and then it is the coach who decides the team at the weekend. I have not set my hopes or expectations.”
