According to reports in the Spanish media Alfonso Pedraza could again be sent on loan for another season by his parent club Villarreal. The youngster recently returned to Spain, following a six-month loan spell with Leeds United.
Cordoba Deporte have reported Pedraza could continue his development at another La Liga club next season. The 21-year-old has the option to remain with Villarreal, but it’s unlikely the young winger will be able to hold down a regular place with the Yellow Submarines.
Corboda Deporte say Pedraza now has to think over his future, and whether he will try to fight for a place at Villarreal or go elsewhere.
Pedraza did have an option to make his move permanent to Leeds United on the condition the club achieved promotion to the Premier League. This would have triggered a clause in the deal, which meant Leeds United had to pay Villarreal €10m to secure the youngster.
However, a poor run of results towards the backend of the season resulted in Garry Monk’s side missing out on the play offs.
Despite Pedraza returning to his home country there have been recent reports he will be loaned out again, which gives Leeds United a chance to bring back the Spaniard for next season.
La Liga competition may be not what Leeds would have wanted.
