On June 18th, Jornal de Notícias reported Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the clubs chasing FC Porto’s David Carmo.
The centre-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Olympiacos, and claims from Portugal last week stated that they want to make his stay permanent this summer.
Olympiacos haven’t yet managed to buy the 24-year-old, which can allow Wolves to move to sign him.
That’s according to Saturday’s edition of Record, who say Wolves have ‘redoubled’ their attention on Carmo because of Kilman’s impending exit.
Gary O’Neil’s side haven’t yet opened talks with Porto for the Angola international, but the newspaper says they have positioned themselves to negotiate a deal.
Despite appreciating the player, Porto are willing to listen to offers for him. Olympiacos are the only ones to have expressed their willingness, offering €12m plus €3m bonuses.
Carmo’s deal lasts until 2027 and Transfermarkt values him at €12m. Wolves have to find a replacement for Kilman and they could look at the Porto player, who would be available for less than €20m.
