Player may stay at Leicester City now Maresca has gone, but club want to ‘open negotiation’ for him

Victor Kristiansen could return to Leicester City this summer, but Bologna want an ‘open negotiation’ to bring the defender back after his loan spell this season.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the Italian side aren’t going to use their clause to buy Kristiansen but haven’t given up on him yet.

They explain that Bologna will start negotiations with Leicester later int eh year to try and get the defender back, but at different prices to what had been previously agreed in his loan deal.

That loan included a €14m option to buy him permanently but the Italians don’t want to pay that figure and will instead send him back to Leicester and negotiate for him during the transfer window.

They want an ‘open negotiation’ with the Foxes to ensure he can return for a more affordable figure than the €14m.

There is a possibility that the defender can remain at Leicester, though, with Enzo Maresca’s departure potentially opening the door.

He didn’t consider him as a starter, but Leicester’s new manager may have a different opinion and that could see Kristiansen remain at the King Power.

Bologna want to stop that happening and can offer Champions League football, but first want to discuss the deal with Leicester and get the defender back on more favourable terms.
