While Chelsea are named as one of the potential destinations for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, there’s something interesting going on between Napoli and the player’s agent.
Last week, the representative was quoted teasing about a transfer, claiming the right offer could convince the Serie A club to sell.
That wasn’t taken very well by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who’s now quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb talking about the situation.
The club chief, who was speaking to Mediaset, made it clear it’s him who’ll decide whether Kvaratskhelia will leave the club.
“The irrefutable offer must come to me and not to him. Kvara still has many years with us and I would like to extend his contract. He has been a gentleman, we will talk about it at the end of the year and I haven’t moved. If he stiffens up, it’s worse for him but also for us. We knew he was a very good player, but thanks to Napoli he has expressed the best of himself and it’s right that we will pay for that.”
Chelsea, as well as other Premier League clubs, have been linked to Kvaratskhelia for a while now.
At the start of the month, though, the Italian media reawakened those rumours, claiming Chelsea are one of the clubs who are still following the Georgian star.
Kvaratskhelia is not having his best season at Napoli, with ten goals and six assists so far, but has shown a lot in the past few years.
In case Chelsea are really planning to try his signing, then they should probably pay attention to the public fight between De Laurentiis and his agent.
