Tottenham are willing to open the door to Real Madrid youngster Arda Güler in the summer transfer window, should the Spanish giants make him available.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say Spurs and Bayer Leverkusen are the first to position themselves in the potential race for the youngster’s signature.
The newspaper explains that Güler’s situation at the Santiago Bernabeu is a complex one after arriving in the summer but missing the start of the season through injuries.
He’s spent the first half of the campaign on the treatment table and by the time he was fit, Carlo Ancelotti had already put his team together and worked out something that functions well, meaning there was no space for the forward.
Madrid are aware that the Turkish youngster may need to be moved on, albeit temporarily, to ensure that his development is not stalled and so would be ‘willing’ to do a deal for him.
Madrid, for their part, would be willing to negotiate if the player agrees but would ensure that any team who signs him can guarantee regular minutes. AC Milan are also in the picture and have the added bonus of doing a similar deal with Madrid in the past for Brahim Diaz.
He joined the Italian side for three years, growing and developing away from Madrid before being brought back for a set price and becoming a part of Ancelotti’s squad this season.
A similar deal could be done for Güler, and Tottenham and Leverkusen are firmly in the frame early doors to secure it if Madrid open the door.
