Over the summer, Sheffield United, newly promoted, didn’t exactly want to weaken their squad, but eventually had to when Marseille came knocking for Iliman Ndiaye.
The forward, who is a huge fan of the Ligue 1 side, first turned down the chance to move to the south of France, but eventually caved in when it was clear they would not give up.
He has, however, disappointed a lot since his arrival, struggling to fully display his ability after his Sheffield United exit, which Basile Boli, a legend of the French club, understands, as he explained to Jérome Rothen on RMC Sport, relayed by Foot Marseille.
Despite featuring in the vast majority of Marseille’s games after his move from Sheffield United, the 23-year-old forward has only managed to find the back of the net once, but has helped out with three assists in his 20 appearances.
That’s a far cry from his statistics of 22 goals and 14 assists in 88 games with the Bramall Lane side, although he still has plenty of time to turn things around.
