Spanish side Granada are ‘already thinking’ about replacing Bryan Zaragoza as Brentford circle the player ahead of the January transfer window.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the La Liga side are preparing for all possible scenarios with the player as interest in him grows.
Reports over the last two weeks or so have put Brentford in the mix for Zaragoza, with it claimed on the 21st of this month that they were very interested in him and had the ability to pay his release clause.
That was followed by a report explaining that Zaragoza had a decision to make about his future as Brentford and other suitors circle.
Estadio now follow that up and explain that Granada’s sports management, led by Matteo Tognozzi, are already looking to the January window and planning ahead.
While they want new players added to the squad, they’re also aware they may need to replace Zaragoza and their plans very much revolve around him.
He has a release clause worth €14m and ‘strong suitors’ willing to take him away, with Brentford and RB Leipzig having been named explicitly.
They’re already eyeing up replacements in case anyone makes a move, with Santos’ Yeferson Sotelo at the top of their list, should Zaragoza leave, as he’s valued at €5m, a figure they could afford if they got €14m for their current star.
Whether he leaves remains to be seen but there is certainly a strong belief that a transfer is a possibility for him, and Brentford are very much in the mix.
