Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has admitted he would be left disappointed if boos from Copenhagen fans were directed at him during their game this week.
The striker has been speaking to Ekstra Bladet after the Champions League clash between the two sides, which Copenhagen won 4-3 in a thrilling affair.
Hojlund got himself on the scoresheet against his former side, bagging a double that had initially put Manchester United into a commanding 2-0 lead before everything went wrong.
This seemingly didn’t go down well with the home fans, who were less than impressed by their former striker, who spent five years at the club as a youngster and scored five goals in 32 games in the first team, and appeared to boo him off the pitch when he was substituted in the second half.
“I don’t know if it was against me or others,” he said.
“But if it was against me, I think it’s a shame, because I’ve given everything for the club. Of course it’s a shame if it was directed at me. But if it wasn’t for me, I wouldn’t take it so seriously.
“When I score, I celebrate, that’s clear. And I did it to our own fans. So it had nothing to do with anything. I’m happy to score goals, so I cheer for our fans.
“I think it was special. I was inside the FCK dressing room before the match, but as I said, I play for Manchester United, and I hope that we win every match.”
