Manchester United are in the mix to sign Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch, according to De Telegraaf.
The midfielder has struggled for game time since he left Ajax for the Bundesliga winners last summer. Thomas Tuchel has publicly admitted he’ll be reduced to a substitute role, which hasn’t pleased the 21-year-old.
Gravenberch is ‘flattered’ with the interest he has received from the Premier League, where Manchester United have come forward to sign him.
It’s said the Red Devils have registered their interest in the Netherlands international with his entourage.
For now, the player is keeping his options open in the Premier League, where Liverpool are also chasing him. Therefore, De Telegraaf say it’s a ‘confusing time’ for Gravenberch.
The Dutchman enjoyed working under Erik ten Hag at Ajax. This factor could potentially help the Old Trafford club to get ahead of the Reds in the transfer race.
For Manchester United, the report states it’s ‘important to convince’ Bayern to sanction his transfer.
Bayern would still prefer to retain Gravenberch. De Telegraaf add they are against his sale and the alternative is for him to leave on a loan deal.
The midfielder seems to be keen to make a switch to England this summer. He and his agent, José Fortes Rodriguez, have 10 days left to find a new destination.
