As Stefan De Vrij’s contract with Inter Milan expires at the end of the season, it’s no surprise to see the Nerazzurri worried about the possibility of losing the defender for free.
And as outlet Calcio Mercato now writes about the 30-year-old’s situation, Premier League sides Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are both named as suitors for his signing.
It’s pointed out that the defender’s situation has ‘not yet been resolved’, with Inter Milan working to get a renewal, to at least avoid him signing a pre-contract with any other club.
The outlet quotes the player’s agent Federico Pastorello, who didn’t make the situation any clearer: “It will probably be his last important contract and when you’re due, you can also decide whether to have a new experience in a new country, in a new championship. Having said that, however, his attachment to Inter is very strong and I do not exclude that he may decide to stay.”
Then speaking of potential destinations for De Vrij, Calcio Mercato names Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, linking the interest from both clubs as a request from their managers.
Regarding the Red Devils, it’s said Erik ten Hag remains ‘Dutchising’ the squad. Meanwhile, it’s said Antonio Conte would like to have ‘one of his pillars back’.
There isn’t, however, any updates about talks from Manchester United and Tottenham for the signing, as it looks like they’ll wait until De Vrij’s situation with Inter Milan is defined and then possibly move to sign him as a free agent.
