With Romelu Lukaku scoring 4 goals against Bournemouth at the weekend, it was only natural that the Belgian striker would get some credit. Everton beat Bournemouth 6-3 and Lukaku was one of the players to shine.

With two goals in the first half hour, Lukaku helped Everton on their way, but it was in the last 10 minutes that the striker rounded off his own performance by adding a further goal, completing his hat-trick, and then another for good measure.

Each week Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport pick out a selection of the best performers from around Europe, ignoring their own Serie A, and this week Lukaku leads the line. Not only that, the Everton player was the most highly rated with 9 out of 10. That’s not a mark often seen in Gazzetta, who don’t throw around 8s and 9s like confetti.

Lukaku was one of three Premier League players to make the grade, with his international teammate Eden Hazard, and Hull City’s Alfred N’Diaye, joining the Everton player.
