Chelsea find themselves eighth in the Premier League after the first round matches and their victory over Everton.
It’s the start they wanted, and the Blues are still in the mix for transfer business to shape their squad, with Timo Werner thought to be on the way back to RB Leipzig, and Marcos Alonso closing in on his much anticipated move to Barcelona.
Monday’s edition of Sport reports the Blaugrana ‘expect’ to finally agree a deal for the Spaniard today, although that doesn’t mean there’s nothing left to talk about with regards to the deal.
According to the Catalan newspaper, Chelsea ‘will resume negotiations’ today for the transfer, despite the move being ‘taken for granted’ at the Camp Nou, as it has been for much of the summer window.
The report ends by saying ‘everything is on the right track’ for the agreement to be sealed today.
