For the past few weeks, the Catalan media have again been mentioning Barcelona interest in Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.
Earlier reports indicated the Citizens are looking at Frenkie de Jong and the La Liga side could let the Dutchman leave in exchange for the Portugal international.
These claims were again relayed in Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, who stated that Manchester City are attentive to the Barca player.
The newspaper suggested the English champions keeping tabs on De Jong could facilitate a swap deal involving him and Silva.
With various claims discussing Xavi Hernández and Barca being keen to have the player at the Camp Nou, Pep Guardiola was specifically quizzed whether Silva will leave the Etihad for the Camp Nou. Mundo Deportivo have relayed his comments.
Responding to that, the Manchester City manager said: “It would be very difficult for them.”
Guardiola’s latest comments, at least for time being, should cool down further claims of Barca wanting to sign Silva.
