If the updates coming out of Italy on Monday regarding the future of Aaron Hickey are to be believed, it won’t be long before the defender ends up at Arsenal.

The left-back has been a target for the Gunners to bolster the defence ahead of next season, and there have been a lot of reports on the matter over the past few weeks.

One of the big moments was the claim that Arsenal had made a €25m bid for the Scottish defender, and that’s a line continuously pushed by Gazzetta dello Sport.

The newspaper explain there is now a ‘very likely farewell’ to be expected when it comes to Hickey, because the London side are ‘pressing heavily with an offer of €25m’.

A need for a replacement therefore exists in Bologna, but they might already have some cover at the club in the shape of Mitchell Dijks.

We’ll have to wait and see if Arsenal’s bid does end up in a transfer, but it seems, at least from Gazzetta’s end, that Edu Gaspar and co. are doing their utmost to get a deal over the line.
