Andreas Pereira’s drama at Flamengo is still the reason for many stories in the Brazilian media, with Extra now featuring a piece about the midfielder’s ‘grief’ at the Rio de Janeiro side.
The Manchester United loanee continues to feel guilty for the loss in the Copa Libertadores’ final, as his mistake in extra time led to Palmeiras’ late winner.
This week, we’ve seen a local journalist claiming ‘there’s no forgiveness’ for the error he made, as that cost his club millions and he should be fired for that.
Extra now claims that Andreas’ parents stayed in Rio de Janeiro to give him support, and despite reports suggesting Flamengo would give him psychological assistance, it’s now claimed there will be no need for that.
Now despite all this, Flamengo reportedly ‘go on with the desire to keep’ Andreas Pereira at the club. And even though they’d need to pay Manchester United €20m to trigger the buying clause, Extra claims there will still be negotiations to ‘reduce’ that price.
It’s also claimed that Andreas feels he’s in debt with Flamengo fans, as he’s grateful for the reception he had in Rio de Janeiro since his arrival.
That’s why he already told his friends that his ‘biggest desire’ is to play another Copa Libertadores final for the club.
The midfielder’s loan runs until June 2022.
