Ahead of Manchester United kicking off against Young Boys, attention was on Cristiano Ronaldo, who after scoring a brace at the weekend, would again be in action for the Red Devils in the Champions League after 12 years.
During the warm up, the Portuguese star accidentally shot a ball at a steward. While she was assisted, he went to check on her and even gave her a shirt after the match.
This story gets a lot more interesting now that Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte managed to interview Marisa Nobile.
The steward, who lives in Switzerland, revealed that she had an argument with Cristiano Ronaldo many years ago, when Real Madrid played Basel back in 2014.
“When he played here for Real Madrid, I ended up cursing him. I didn’t know who he was,” Marisa Nobile told Globo Esporte.
“I said: ‘The game is over, you keep running here on the field and people don’t leave’. He continued, and I was already very tired. He sent me to talk to the coach.
“I came back: ‘So, is it going to end or not? This is Switzerland, dear!’ He told me where to go. I said: ‘What a rude guy’. Until yesterday, I didn’t like Cristiano Ronaldo.”
So on Tuesday night, with her back turned to the pitch, the steward was hit by the ball on her head. She fell to the ground, and when getting up, she saw Cristiano Ronaldo checking on her.
“It wasn’t revenge, no! Don’t think it was revenge.
“He was holding my hand, stroking my face, asking, ‘Are you okay, are you okay?'”
She even apologised about what happened many years ago and told Ronaldo she’s a fan, that’s when he offered her his jersey.
“Now I’m a number one Ronaldete!”
