Youssef En-Nesyri spent many months being linked with a move to West Ham, with David Moyes on a continual search for a striker.
According to the Spanish media, there were serious efforts from the Hammers to sign the player, but they were met with two rather big problems. Firstly, the Premier League club weren’t able to convince Sevilla to part with the player, and secondly, En-Nesyri himself wasn’t keen on the move.
That was pretty much that.
According to claims from close to the La Liga club, Arsenal are now in the picture to sign him, wanting to succeed where their London rivals failed.
La Colina de Nervion report Arsenal see the 24-year-old Sevilla attacker as the ‘ideal’ option to replace 32-year-old Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The suggestion is Mikel Arteta’s side would want the move as soon as possible, so in January, but it’s made clear Sevilla wouldn’t be keen on that and things would have to be ‘postponed’ until next summer.
What happens between now and then at Arsenal, and it could be a great deal, will play a big part in deciding whether this gets off the ground or not.
