West Ham United are eyeing a move for Villarreal defender Pervis Estupinan this summer, which is a problem for Italian side Napoli.

That’s according to Il Mattino, who cover the situation today and explain how the Hammers’ spending power could be a spanner in the works for the Serie A club.

They explain how Napoli are on the hunt for a new left-back this summer and Estupinan is one of two names on their list alongside Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri.

They’re working on deals for both, and with Estupinan, this would be a loan deal, which is all that they can afford.

They’re giving the defender ‘more than a passing thought,’ but the problem in getting it done is the economics, and that’s where West Ham come into it.

They’re also following the former Watford man, and there’s a feeling that West Ham are ‘willing to offer more’ than Napoli to bring him to the London Stadium.

Thus, it’s felt the deal could only come alive for Napoli if David Moyes and co should ‘withdraw’ from the situation, which at the moment cannot ‘absolutely be excluded’.

In other words, West Ham can offer more money and seem willing to do so, and that’s a problem for Napoli.

Indeed, there’s a belief they will bet hard on the 23-year-old, suggesting this a move that could happen, at least as far as those in Italy are concerned.
