In the summer 2019 window, former Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian was linked to several Serie A sides, and ending up leaving the Red Devils to join Parma.
Something similar is now happening to Diogo Dalot, as the main contenders for his signing all seem to come from Italy.
This morning, we covered reports from Sky Italia which said AC Milan had tabled their first bid for the 21-year-old, as he’s the ‘hottest’ fullback option for them this window.
Now according to TuttoMercatoWeb, Roma have joined the race as well. It’s said the Giallorossi recently called Manchester United to talk about Dalot, amid their negotiations to sign Chris Smaling.
It’s still not said if Roma are placing a bid for the Portuguese fullback. All TuttoMercatoWeb claims is that his signing has been ‘approved’ by manager Paulo Fonseca.
The website also points out that Milan are in the race too, so it seems the final week of the transfer window will have an Italian race for the Manchester United player.
Dalot hasn’t been used by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjar since June.
