Inter Milan have Everton striker Moise Kean on their list of potential replacements for Lautaro Martínez this summer.
Several top teams in Europe want the Argentine after an impressive season with Antonio Conte’s side, in which he’s scored 16 goals in 31 games in all competitions so far.
Should he leave, Inter will be forced to scour the market for a replacement and are drawing up a list of potential targets at this moment in time.
Everton’s Kean is on that list, according to Tuttosport, the newspaper explaining they see him as the ‘long-term option’ when it comes to finding a replacement.
Inter chief Beppe Marotta is a big fan of the 20-year-old and even tried to sign him last year, holding discussions with Mino Raiola at the end of April.
However, he ended up going to Everton, where he’s endured a difficult season, managing just one goal thus far.
He’d like to move back to Italy to get his career back on track and get himself back into form ahead of the European Championships, which have been delayed until next season.
Raiola could turn that wish into a reality with Inter as he has a good relationship with Marotta, despite the fact he’s not done any business with the Serie A side in the last ten years.
Moise Kean’s father has also openly admitted Inter would be a good location for him in several interviews, further adding to the belief there is a deal there to be done.
Everton, it’s felt, won’t be able to ask for more than €25m giving the striker’s poor season and that’s a fee Inter could ‘spend serenely’ if they wish to as Kean fits all the characteristics Conte wants.
It’s unlikely Everton will sanction a deal, though. Amid reports that Kean wants to go to Roma, it was made clear they aren’t willing to let him go and want to keep him for another year.
Similarly, it’s widely believed they expected him to struggle this year and thus are not overly desperate to try and recoup their losses.
After the effort they put in to get him in the first place, and with them needing to focus their attention elsewhere this summer, letting him go and adding another issue to fix would be a strange choice.
