Until Rodrigo Riquelme renews his contract with Atletico Madrid, the rumours around the 20 year old’s future will continue.
Celtic have been linked with a move for the player, and AS brought the Scottish Premiership club into the picture again on Monday.
It’s stated Neil Lennon’s side have been the latest to join the race for the player, with Celtic among those clubs sending ‘siren songs’ to those who represent the youngster.
Celtic are said to have been impressed after watching Riquelme put in a good performance against Glasgow rivals Rangers, during a UEFA Youth League match this season.
The attacker currently holds all the cards, and it’s unclear whether he’s using interest from Celtic and others to try and get Atletico to offer a better deal. Riquelme has an offer on the table from Atletico, yet it hasn’t been signed.
Real Betis, Real Madrid and Valencia are some of the clubs ready to tussle with Celtic for the signing.
