According to Greek newspaper Sport Day, via Sdna.Gr, Liverpool are interested in Olympiacos central defender Ousseynou Ba.
The 24 year old Senegalese international has been an important part of Pedro Martins’ team, and he impressed with his performances against the English sides in the Europa League this season.
It’s also claimed the former Ajaccio player could get a move to Anfield if his national teammate Sadio Mane pushes for it. There’s no explanation over why Mane would push for the transfer, although it’s conceivable he could put a good word in.
Sport Day say there’s been no offer from Liverpool for Ba, but the Olympiacos hierarchy believe the Premier League leaders could be one of the clubs who might turn their interest into an offer this summer.
Previous reports from the Greek press linked Ba with a move to the likes of Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, however recent claims from Greek newspaper FOS stated the player is likely to stay at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium unless there is an offer of more than €20m.
Ba has made 18 appearances for his club this season in all competitions and is under contract until June 2023.
