Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has stated he will leave the club in the summer if a ‘good club’ make an offer, believing Liverpool may be potential suitors.

The Colombian striker has continued to flourish for Rangers this season, with 28 goals in 37 games in all competitions to boot.

His 12 league goals make him the third-highest goalscorer in the division and, predictably, several clubs south of the border are said to be keeping a close eye on his development.

Indeed, he has regularly been linked with a move to the Premier League over the two years and admitted in the past he will look to move at some point.

That’s something he’s reaffirmed, telling VBar on Radio Caracol that he believes Liverpool may have joined his list of suitors.

“I think they are aware, (it’s easy to) imagine with the coach we have, who played all that time in Liverpool,” AS Colombia report the Rangers player as saying.

“I imagine he must have friends, managers who come to watch the games and are on the lookout. Other teams are watching as well; we have to keep doing things right.

“There are many clubs interested, let’s wait until the end of the season to see what leagues are asking for me and make a decision.

“If God gives me the opportunity to go out to a good club, it will happen.”

For now, Morelos remains with Rangers and focused on helping them to secure their first Scottish title in nine years.

Steven Gerrard’s side are currently seven points behind leaders Celtic but have a game in hand to help narrow that gap.

Having dominated the goalscoring charts in his time at the club, Morelos believes the last thing he needs to do is add a title to continue his budding Rangers legacy.

“In the short term I am with Rangers, until midseason,” he added.

“It depends on what you do; if you score many goals, there will be interest from many more teams, there will be interest from the largest and most competitive leagues.

“My dream is to be a champion, to be champion with Rangers is the only thing I need to continue making my mark on this club.

“If given another chance of a bigger team, it will be done.”

Will Liverpool be looking to take Steven Gerrard’s star away from Rangers? Alfredo Morelos seems to hope so.
