Eindhoven Dagblad report there’s now an agreement between PSV and Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Steven Bergwijn.
After a crazy couple of days, with the Dutch club even threatening to completely pull out of negotiations on Sunday, there’s now brighter news. It had been predicted by ED late on Monday afternoon, and it would seem they were right.
The Dutch newspaper reports ‘the deal came last night’ and Spurs will pay €30m guaranteed for the 22 year old attacker. On top of that there’ll also be a further €2m available in bonus payments.
Ajax, where Bergwijn spent some time early in his youth career, are entitled to around €150k of the transfer fee.
It’s believed that things can now move very quickly, and Bergwijn will soon be part of Jose Mourinho’s squad.
He had been banned from travelling to London on Sunday, with conflicting rumours about whether or not he did anyway, and now it looks like there’ll be permission for him to be in the city, have a medical, and complete his move to Tottenham.
