Perhaps the only surprise around Jesus Vallejo right now is that it’s January 24th and he’s still a Wolves player.
The defender moved on loan from Real Madrid in the summer with great hopes of getting games in the Premier League and making himself more ready to challenge at the Spanish side.
It’s not worked out and it was clear in the run-up to the winter market that was the case. There were even reliable reports of interest from several clubs, both in La Liga and elsewhere, but it’s taken a while for things to get sorted.
AS now report that Granada, who have been the club most linked, are on the verge of being able to announce the signing. An agreement has been reached with Real Madrid for a loan, and Wolves will release Vallejo.
According to the Spanish newspaper, everything has been closed and it will be made official ‘in the next few hours’.
They even say he’s already a Granada player, so it’s just a matter of getting the announcement out there.
Update: Granada have just announced it.
