According to a claim in the Turkish media, Burnley have had an offer rejected by Fenerbahce for their forward Vedat Muriqi.
The Kosovo international has been linked with a move to Turf Moor in recent weeks but it seems like the Premier League side will have to wait until the summer window to land the player.
Aksam today report on the latest developments regarding Burnley’s pursuit of Muriqi, and they say Fener turned down an offer. It’s claimed the Super Lig club’s president Ali Koc will not sell a key player in this window given they are in the race for the league title.
Muriqi has scored ten goals for his club this campaign and will be vital during the title run in.
Burnley should expect to face competition from Tottenham Hotspur who have also made an offer for the attacker but this was turned down by sporting director Damien Comolli.
The player is contracted to the Yellow Canaries until June 2023.
