Middlesbrough have made an offer for St. Gallen goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic as they seek a replacement for Darren Randolph.
Randolph looks set to make a return to West Ham this month, two years after he departed the club for Middlesbrough.
That would leave the Championship club without their first-choice goalkeeper, but it seems plans are already well advanced to find his replacement.
According to Tagblatt, Boro made an ‘official offer’ for the St. Gallen goalkeeper on Tuesday, which has been confirmed by sports director Alian Sutter, although the nature of the bid is currently unknown.
One of those relationships appear to be with Middlesbrough, who are now seemingly keen on signing up one of their clients to replace the departing Randolph.
The move from Middlesbrough is said to be ‘disturbing the tranquility’ at the Swiss club, with Sutter keen to get a deal done sooner rather than later.
“The sooner, the better. But there are no more reports to be had from me,” he told the newspaper.
“It would be for the football romantics that all players remain with us. And actually, such interests are also an award for our work,” added coach Peter Zeidler, who reportedly only found out about the bid today.
