Galatasaray’s Florin Andone picked up a knee injury last week against Gaziantep FK and initial reports suggested he will be out at least two and a half months.

Since arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer he’s made a decent start, but his injury has come as a shock to Gala. There are now fears he won’t make an appearance until March, according to some medical sources.

Turkish newspaper Takvim say Galatasaray are now considering cutting Andone’s loan spell short and they will assess the player’s situation after he undergoes surgery.

Galatasaray also need to release some of their foreign players to add new faces in the next window and subsequently Andone could be sent him back to Brighton in January so they can sign a new striker.

Takvim claim Galatasaray will now make an offer to Brighton to cut his loan deal short, or alternatively they could freeze the player’s contract.

The Romanian forward has made nine appearances for the Super Lig side this season, scoring two goals.
