Jurgen Klopp will currently be biting his fingernails, hoping his Liverpool players return from international duty in one piece.

Mohamed Salah won’t be available for Egypt’s games after picking up an ankle issue. That happened towards the end of the victory against Manchester City at the weekend, and he was seen wearing a protective boot on Tuesday.

Over in the Netherlands, Georginio Wijnaldum is ill.

Dutch news source NOS reports the player is recovering from the flu. It’s specifically the flu, rather than a cold.

Therefore, the Liverpool midfielder has been training alone in the gym on Wednesday morning, one of a couple of doubts for Ronald Koeman’s side.

The other Oranje worry is Memphis Depay, with the Lyon player suffering from a thigh injury.

Koeman’s side face Northern Ireland on November 16th and Estonia on the 19th, both qualification matches for Euro 2020.

It’s unlikely Wijnaldum’s situation can be made be worse, so this probably isn’t chief among Klopp’s international break worries.
