Yesterday Everton were defeated 3-1 by Bournemouth thanks to a double from Callum Wilson and an own goal from Fabian Delph, but for the Turkish media the game had other implications.
Everton boss Marco Silva didn’t include Cenk Tosun in his match-day squad despite the 28 year old scoring a brace against Moldova in midweek and his ommission has brought the Portuguese coach criticism.
Hurriyet claim Tosun is upset about his current situation but still wants to work hard to convince Silva that he’s worthy of first-team football in the upcoming games.
It’s reported Tosun will continue to work hard until January but if his situation doesn’t change at Everton then he will consider leaving, with Medipol Basaksehir said to be an option for the player.
Tosun was linked with Besiktas and Galatasaray during the last transfer window.
The former Besiktas striker has yet to get any minutes under his belt in the Premier League this season and his only appearance for Everton came in the League Cup against Lincoln City, in which he played 17 minutes and made one assist.
Tosun is under contract at Everton until June 2022.
