The final week of the transfer window is always a busy period, and that’s definitely been the case for Real Betis midfielder Victor Camarasa.

Betis have made it clear that they want to get rid of the midfielder this summer and it appeared he would be on his way to Crystal Palace.

However, with those negotiations nearly completed, Burnley swooped in late to scupper Palace’s plans and try to get the player for themselves.

It appears that Palace have won the race, though, with both ABC Sevilla and Diario de Sevilla that Camarasa is on his way to Selhurst Park this summer.

Palace have reached a loan agreement with Betis for Camarasa, paying an initial €1.5m and including a purchase option in the deal.

However, it is a change in terms of the purchase option which has held things up.

ABC report that instead of a set fee at the end of the deal, Palace have negotiated to €13.5m if Camarasa plays at least 15 games next season instead.

They say a deal will be finalised once the Eagles have an agreement in place with the player, which is yet to happen. In fact, Diario say the lack of an understanding is what’s holding the whole deal up.
