So far this summer, the only door revolving at Newcastle United has been the exit one.
Rafa Benitez has left for China and their top two goal-scorers from last season, Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez, have also departed.
Rondon has returned to West Bromwich Albion after his successful loan spell while Ayoze Perez has moved to Leicester City in a £30m deal.
With nobody replacing Benitez as yet there is little talk about potential signings, but Tuttomercatoweb insist there is one player they’re currently after.
The Italian news source says the Magpies are particularly interested in Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha and that the Albanian is a ‘concrete’ target for the club, who ‘move strongly’ for him.
In fact, they believe that an offer for Strakosha is ready to be made, although they don’t go as far as to suggest how much the 24-year-old would cost.
At this point, a move would make little sense either. First and foremost, Newcastle don’t have a manager, so presumably, that is top of the to-do list at present.
Factor in that they already have three goalkeepers at the club, including the more than reliable Martin Dubravka, and it seems unlikely they’ll move for Strakosha before at least one of those depart.
