According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce are close to signing Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The Bosnian goalkeeper has been linked with a move away from the Premier League club this summer. In recent weeks Fenerbahce, along with Greek side Olympiacos, have been linked with the player.

Ajansspor claims Fenerbahce are looking to seal a deal for the 31 year old and talks between the two clubs are progressing well at this stage.

Fenerbahce manager Ersun Yanal reportedly wants a proven goalkeeper for next season after reports he’s not happy with the options he has. The Turkish club have Harun Tekin as their current No.1 goalkeeper but Yanal is looking bring in somebody better.

According to Ajansspor, a deal is close for Begovic but Fenerbahce are also considering other options to the Bournemouth player. The Super Lig side are reportedly interested in signing Dinamo Zagreb’s Dominik Livakovic if they fail to bring in the former Chelsea goalkeeper.

Begovic is contracted to Bournemouth until June 2021, but after losing his place in Eddie Howe’s team last season his time with the club looks to be coming to an end.
