According to TRT Spor journalist Firat Gunayer, Besiktas manager Abdullah Avci is keen to keep Loris Karius at the club for next season.
The Liverpool loanee’s future continues to be reported on in the Turkish media, with doubt about whether he’ll fulfil the second year of loan, but Gunayer says Avci wants to start next season with the German goalkeeper.
Gunayer claims Avci likes what he’s seen of Karius and believes he will be an important part of his squad for next season.
Unless something unexpected happens, the 26-year old will continue at Besiktas as the Turkish side look to mount a title challenge. The goalkeeper has given hints to the Turkish press that he’s prepared to remain with the Black Eagles for another season.
Karius has in recent weeks been linked with a move away from the Super Lig club, with the likes of AS Roma and Werder Bremen said to be interested in signing the Liverpool owned goalkeeper.
The player’s contract at Anfield will expire in 2021.
