Edinson Cavani could be leaving PSG this summer, so, naturally, Manchester United are being linked with the striker.
France Football explain Thomas Tuchel could look to move away from using the Uruguayan, instead bringing in more technical options for the attack.
The 32 year old only has a year left on his contract with PSG, yet despite his age and contractual situation, it’s believed the club could get close to €50m for him.
That certainly sounds ambitious.
Manchester United aren’t the only ones said to be targeting the player, with Atletico Madrid also keen. The Spanish side will be losing Antoine Griezmann this summer, and Diego Costa could also be on the exit ramp, so they need to bring a reliable goalscorer in.
It’s suggested the lack of Champions League football on offer at United would be an issue, so the club would need to be very persuasive.
Whilst Cavani is clearly a top striker, and a very hard worker, his age would suggest he’s not in the mould Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for this summer.
Maybe getting €50m from Old Trafford is wishful thinking from France Football on behalf of PSG.
