Asist Analiz have reported on the latest developments with regards to the future of Fenerbahce defender Martin Skrtel, with the defender being linked with move to Rangers over the past year.

Last summer there were reports the Slovakia international could be reunited with his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard at Ibrox and these rumours have resurfaced in the Turkish media.

According to the claims, Rangers and Olympiacos are both showing a strong interest in Skrtel, but the Slovakian has yet to decide on his future.

Ercanlar says Fenerbahce have offered Skrtel a one year extension for €1.5m but the Slovakian is looking for two-year contract for €4m.

It’s claimed Rangers and Olympiacos have made offers to the player, but they will need to improve on their initial proposals.

Fenerbahce president Ali Koc will reportedly meet Skrtel this week to solve this issue and there’s a reasonable chance the 34 year old will remain in Istanbul for next season.
