Considered to be a ‘surprise’ from Tite in the last call up for the Brazilian national team, Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira was a late decision from the manager.
According to website UOL today, the player was one of the last from the squad to know about the call up. He was told just one day before the official list came out on Friday.
The outlet claims that Andreas only entered the list in the ‘last hour’, and should now feature for Brazil in the games against El Salvador and United States in September.
There had been some rumours that the midfielder could be called up by Belgium for the next friendlies. Manager Roberto Martinez reportedly watched the player in Manchester United’s game against Leicester City for the first fixture of the Premier League.
But Brazil acted quicker and got him first. As the player also had preference to play for his parents’ home country, Belgium didn’t have much of a chance.
