Loaned out to Shrewsbury for the season, Thakgalo Khanya Leshabela seemingly returned to Leicester City in January, as he has been featuring with the club’s Development Squad since.

The South African midfielder has featured just once for the Foxes over the course of his career with the club, coming in a 5-0 win over Sheffield United last season.

With a contract at King Power Stadium expiring in June, this looks like the end of the road with Leicester, and he’s already having trials elsewhere.

This comes from Walfoot in Belgium, who explain OHL are ‘working on the preparation of their squad for next season’, hoping for a better season than what’s happened this year.

That’s why they have brought in Leshabela, with the 22-year-old travelling from Leicester for a ‘test and has the chance of proving himself at OHL’.

He recently played a half of football in a friendly against Lommel.

They state that Leicester ‘hope to find him a club where he will play more’, although that suggests they want to keep him, while his contract situation tells a different story.

Something to keep an eye on, because he’s reaching an age where he will need regular first-team football somewhere, and if he can’t get it with the Foxes, he might be better off convincing another club, like OHL, that he should be with them permanently as a starter.
