Moussa Sissoko has an opportunity to return to Watford this summer, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

The midfielder spent the 2021/22 season at Vicarage Road, making 38 appearances in all competitions, when the Hornets were in the Premier League.

Watford sold the Frenchman to FC Nantes in July 2022, and he’s currently without a club since his deal with the Ligue 1 side expired on June 30th.

The 34-year-old is looking for a new destination, and the report says he could return to England, where he had spells at Tottenham Hotspur and Watford.

His future would be at Watford as TMW say he ‘will soon return’ to the Championship club.

It’s further claimed Tom Cleverley’s side ‘await him’ and a one-year deal, with an option for another year, is ‘ready on the table’ for the former Spurs man.

The English club finished 15th in the table last season, and they are currently reshaping their squad this summer to try and return to the Premier League.

Foot Mercato also claim Sissoko will return to Watford and sign a two-year deal. They add he is expected to undergo medical tests with the Hornets on Monday.

It would be a good deal for Watford, considering Sissoko is available for free and he has featured regularly for Nantes.
