Orri Steinn Oskarsson made his senior team debut for Icelandic side IF Grotta at the age of 13.
IF Grotta are managed by the 15-year-old’s father Oskar Hrafn Thorvaldsson, but the teenager’s progress over the years has been down to his ability, not favours from relatives.
According to BT in Denmark, the forward had ‘attracted interest’ from the Gunners at some point, although they don’t make the timeline clear.
The north London side were one of the English clubs who have previously shown interest in Oskarsson, with the report making it clear the Europa League runners-up and other clubs had been keen.
It’s claimed Oskarsson has now agreed to join Danish side FC Copenhagen.
Over the weekend, Fotbloti.net in Iceland reported about Copenhagen’s interest in Oskarsson, but there was no mention of the Premier League side.
BT now relays the same information and claims the player has signed a contract with Copenhagen and will move to Denmark next summer. The report adds Oskarsson visited Copenhagen several times before signing a contract.
