Two months ago, TV2 stated Manchester United had sent an official to watch Rosenborg BK’s Sverre Halseth Nypan.

The 17-year-old initially joined their academy in 2020 and was promoted to their senior team in 2022. He’s made 58 appearances so far, managing 12 goals and 11 assists in the process.

Recent claims from elsewhere said Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Aston Villa are his suitors. Bayer Leverkusen are also credited with interest. Nettavisen relay that and then provide the latest on this case.

They state the midfielder’s future is likely to be in the Premier League and he could change clubs in January.

Rosenborg have two games left this season, after which the player is expected to travel to England to visit several clubs. The outlet says this is common for talented youngsters and give Martin Ødegaard’s tour as an example.

The current Arsenal player went on a European club-tour before joining Real Madrid from Strømsgodset in January 2015. The Norway U21 international is set to follow Ødegaard’s footsteps, by visiting multiple English clubs in December.

Nettavisen report Manchester United have been in Norway to watch Nypan on numerous occasions. It’s claimed the Red Devils are ‘among the clubs that may be most relevant’ for him.

Rúben Amorim has arrived at Old Trafford and is known for developing young talents at Sporting. The report points out the Portuguese’s connection with Rosenborg manager Alfred Johansson.

The Swede ‘was on a course’ with the new Manchester United boss in Portugal in 2017. This may help the Red Devils to sign the player they’ve followed closely.

Nypan’s deal lasts until December 2026 and the report claims the Norwegian side want €10m to sell him.

The teenager will turn 18-years-of-age on December 19th. Nettavisen state it’s possible for a club to agree a deal with Rosenborg in January and send him back on loan until next summer.
