Five days ago, FootMercato in France made an interesting claim about the future of Nice’s Vincent Marcel, revealing the young forward had an ‘agreement in principle’ with a top five Premier League club despite interest from a handful of French sides.

Well, fast forward to Monday, and the very same website has now revealed the club in question is Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham.

Whether or not this has anything to do with the Spurs manager’s lack of faith in Georges-Kevin N’Koudou remains to be seen, but considering the 20-year-old is capable of playing anywhere across the front three, much like the former Marseille man, it very well could have.

Only making 10 appearances for Nice last year, Marcel is a talented winger, blessed with a good amount of pace and a love for dribbling, always willing to take his man on when the opportunity arises.

The Nice youngster was promoted into the first-team squad after just one season with the Ligue 1 side’s U19s, arriving from Le Havre’s academy in 2015.

Despite reporting the player saying yes to a five-year deal at (for now) Wembley, FootMercato also appear to suggest there has yet to be any contact between Tottenham and Nice.

Considering he’s under contract there until 2021, Daniel Levy should probably give them a ring.
