Earlier today we covered comments from Dejan Kulusevski, after the Tottenham Hotspur player told the Swedish media he wasn’t thrilled with Spurs’ post-season trip to Australia.
Whilst that long haul trek for a friendly annoyed the player, it hasn’t broken his relationship with the club. There’s recently been claims in Italy, stating that with Antonio Conte set to become Napoli manager, he could look to take the Tottenham player there.
Kulusevski was directly asked about those rumours by Aftonbladet, and said: “I don’t know anything about that. I have heard that Conte is going there. It will be fun to see him there, to see him back in football.”
Spurs’ end to their Premier League campaign didn’t go the way anyone at the club hoped it would. Whereas once Champions League qualification was firmly within their grasp, they ended up slipping away and seeing the spot go to Aston Villa instead.
Kulusevski may be frustrated with how things ended, but overall he feels it was a positive campaign, especially for himself: “It has been good. There have been incredibly high peaks and deep valleys. It was a slightly worse period at the end where some results went against us. We lost a little focus and belief in ourselves.
“It was still a fifth place and an incredibly positive season. Personally, I’ve made incredible strides and gotten so much better – the way I see the game, my physique, I only missed one game all season due to illness, zero injuries. I’m happy and satisfied.”
Sweden play Denmark in a friendly on Wednesday, and then face Serbia at the weekend.
