With Burnley currently under a transfer embargo, there are some concerns in Germany about the future of Jordan Beyer.
The centre-back has been a great acquisition for the Clarets since he arrived on loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach, and the Championship side have a clause in the deal allowing them to buy him permanently if they get promotion to the Premier League.
Burnley are well on their way to doing so, and there was a lot of excitement in Germany that the homegrown player could make the leap, as that would mean money in the club’s coffers.
However, the current situation at the club now means there is a chance this could fall through, as they cannot buy anyone.
Bild have an article on the matter, bringing the view on it all from Germany, making it clear that, as things stand, the €15m deal ‘is shaking again’.
Burnley have tried to reassure their fans via a statement, and both themselves and their new auditors believe the situation will be rectified soon.
Either way, the fact of the matter is, the transfer of Beyer to Burnley is currently in jeopardy, but what that would mean for Gladbach?
It’s stated that while this would be a ‘high financial loss’ for the German side, they would at least recuperate ‘a homegrown talent, who has developed really well in England’, who could end up being a cornerstone for the ‘necessary rebuilding’ in the Bundesliga.
