Chelsea’s Cesare Casadei has repeatedly been linked with an exit from the club over the past few weeks.
Serie A giants AC Milan were said to be interested and there was also interest from Dutch side Feyenoord. Juventus were also mentioned as a potential suitor for the Italian midfielder.
It now seems as if Monza have raced ahead of competition for the 21-year-old Casadei.
Gazzetta dello Sport report today that contact has been established between Chelsea and Monza for Casadei, with the Serie A side keen on closing their move by the end of 2024.
Adriano Galliani’s club will make sure that the midfielder gets more playing time, with the ex-Inter Milan man yet to play even once in the Premier League this season.
They are much more advanced than the chasing pack in the race and their aim is to register Casadei for their squad against Cagliari for the 5th of January.
The Italian side have an injury crisis on their hands and the feeling is that they can help the Chelsea man to take his development further.
