Sporting have started moving for the signing of Chiquinho from Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Portuguese media says.

Newspaper O Jogo writes that as the Lions look to reinforce their attack for the next season, they set the 24-year-old as a target.

It’s claimed that even though Sporting are still to make direct contact with Wolves for the transfer, intermediaries are already working on the move.

The English club are reportedly ‘willing to negotiate’ Chiquinho, and would let him go for around €10m this summer.

While on loan at Famalicão this season, the winger scored five goals and contributed four assists in 17 appearances. O Jogo says Sporting boss Ruben Amorim didn’t only look at numbers to consider signing him, but mostly at what he’s shown on the pitch.

Wolves don’t seem to have any plans for Chiquinho in their squad, so selling him now would definitely be a reasonable way to gather some millions early in the summer to help them with upcoming signings.

A potential decent bit of business for the beginning of the window.
