On Wednesday, Foot Mercato said Brentford have made contact to find out the feasibility of signing Jake O’Brien, while Everton are also in the picture for him. As well as these two clubs, Wolverhampton Wanderers are showing interest in the Lyon player.
That’s according to another report from Foot Mercato, who provide more on the 23-year-old’s future.
They relay yesterday’s claim about Brentford interest, and add that Wolves and Everton are also looking at him.
In addition to these three clubs, other Premier League sides have positioned themselves to sign the centre-back, but their details aren’t mentioned.
O’Brien featured regularly for the French club last season and his performances have caught the attention of several English clubs, including Wolves, Brentford and Everton.
The Republic of Ireland international joined the Ligue 1 side in August 2023, and signed a deal until 2027. Despite this and his performances, the report states Lyon have ‘almost confirmed’ his exit in this window.
It’s claimed ‘everything should accelerate’ in the ‘coming days’. With Wolves, Brentford and Everton among his interested parties, O’Brien will have to make a decision on his future soon.
