The Shoya Nakajima mini saga continues in Portugal, and Wolves continue to be a major part of it.
Portimonense have their players training as normal and Nakajima is in the Algarve with them. He’ll be required to face Benfica in Liga NOS before joining up with Japan for the Asian Cup.
Portimonense welcome the Lisbon club on Wednesday 2nd January, and the Asian Cup starts on the 5th, with Japan’s first match, against Turkmenistan, coming on the 9th.
Whilst all this goes on, the player’s future remains uncertain.
Before Christmas, Portimonense spoke publicly about their player being 80% of the way to a Wolves move, and then disagreements on price started.
Originally a transfer was estimated at €20m, but the Japan international’s club have been 
trying to push the figure closer to the player’s €40m clause.
Porto, Sevilla and Leicester are named again, with Benfica added, but it’s got to be considered unlikely that any of those would go close to €40m either.
